Surely a place worth stopping over, the food is good and well prepared, the costs are fair and it is always neat here. Great work.
-
This spot constantly delivers. They serve fantastic food for convenient rates, there is no waiting time even when the spot is loaded.
-
Fantastic food, very welcoming staff members, always good vibes. They charge reasonable prices and the food quality is fantastic. Fantastic work.

Wasn't prepared for the truth when we asked for it......WOW!!!! An Omelette, a steak n cheese wedge and aTom Brady wrap... Whoa, we are still recovering... Looking forward to these next 3yrs.
-
You can't go wrong with brunch here. Great selection and portions. My BF and I shared one sweet and one savory dish and both were excellent. There's def a wait to get in but you expect that everywhere around the city.
-
Lovely place with great food. Didn't order here before, but my friend constantly recommends to try their pizza. I loved it and the service was great.
-
Food was excellent. Takeout only next to Brandeis/Roberts station. Also the 553 bus stop. No public restroom.
-
We love going out. Last night we visited this magnificent place which we didn’t know before. We spent a beautiful evening there with great meal and an experienced crew and a professional cook. We added this fine restaurant in our list and we shall definitely return soon. We deeply recommend.
-
Honestly, it’s the best cheese pizza I had in Boston so far. The “chicken kabob over rice” dinner plate was also very impressive!
-
Great food. Have been going there for years. Plus really nice staff. Whether you're a vegetarian or not the food is great. Veggie pocket, stuffed with sweet onions, mushrooms, peppers and melted cheese..served hot. With chips and a pickle.. you can't go wrong for the price. Not to mention the hot pastrami on a bulkie the best.
-
Food was ready on time (and tasted pretty good!). Staff was friendly, cost was reasonable. Will definitely go there again!

Great food. Have been going there for years. Plus really nice staff.

I have the pleasure of working at a skilled nursing center right near this restaurant. Today we all ordered breakfast and it was amazing! I have also had several pizzas from Prime and they never disappoint.
The food is amazing and they have a great sized menu.
If you haven't tried them , well your missing out. -
Staff here are the best. Every item on their menu is prepared fresh with love. Very reasonable prices and incredibly fast service. Hard to beat if you’re a Brandeis student.
-
I’ve been going to this place for years and I have had countless meals here. Everything about this place is great. The people and the food are top notch and I would recommend it to anyone.
-
The menu is UNREAL. My boyfriend works right next door, and comes here all the time. I went here for the first time ever last night and got the johnnys special, and it was amazing. I love that it came on a fresh baguette. There were SO many things that I wanted, and I'm typically a picky eater. I can't wait to come back and try something else. 5/5 stars!
-
I’m in the area for work eat here for pizza. It was very good I’m staying at the hotel right down the rode I will be trying out more of there food. I cannot wait till breakfast.
-
Great place, amazing staff, and the Brandeis t shirts on the wall has it’s charm
-
This place has great breakfast burritos! I've gone here for lunch a few times too and the food was good. Staff is super friendly!
-
This place chicken tenders and steak salad for me is hands down. Even though my husband liked everything on the menu. These two were my favorites. Not to leave breakfast out. Breakfast was good too. Family staff is very friendly and get to know your face well. Love this place when I go and visit Waltham.
-
I have been ordering from Prime Deli quite regularly for the past three years, and they have always provided quick, efficient and wonderful service and delicious, fresh food. The portions are great, especially for the price.
They have a wide variety of options and a super friendly staff.I highly recommend the Quesedilla, Greek Salad with Chicken, the Tuna Salad, and all of their apps (jalapeno poppers, curly fries and mozzarella sticks especially).
-
Had it delivered a few times. Food has always been really good and the menu is huge with something for practically anyone. It is starting to become a regular spot for my subs and sandwiches!
-
This place can definitely handle a busy lunchtime crowd.
They have a HUGE selection to choose from!
Tried my first GYRO (just a taste and liked it) but got the Tom Brady yum ... .but definitely chicken gyro next time
-
Steak bomb was Delicious. The waitress was super friendly. A good meal
-
Only stayed in Boston for a few days but I regret not ordering from this place sooner. They had the best pizza I had in years, and their menu has everything! I would give them 5, but I ordered a soda, which they never delivered. Still, when I told them I was visiting Boston with my dog, they brought him some complimentary curly fries. They was so good he passed out right after.
-
Food here is great and you just totally go and try something. The menu is huge, so you have a lot to choose from. The staff is very friendly. Try the chicken parm sub!
-
Had THE BEST fried chicken at prime one deli. It goes great with popeye salad which is exceptional.
-
Food is really tasty. Extensive menu, super nice and attentive staff.
-
Stopped here before hitting up Chillbox. The menu is HUGE. They serve breakfast all day and also like 50-70 other foods. I had the gyro and it was delish. I wish there was a better setup with the menu because it takes quite a bit of time to read through all the offerings and make a decision. We felt kind of pressured to make a choice so it would have been nice to know where the menus were so we could grab one and take it back to our seats. I would definitely try this place again if I was in the area.
-
Awesome and quick place to eat at. They serve almost any dish you can think of. I've been coming here for years and I highly recommend it. It's clean and the staff is extremely respectful!
-
Have been ordering from prime for 7 years and have never been disappointed . Great food and great service every time.
-
What a menu. Seriously there are so many items to choose from. Great food, it was ready so fast!
-
Very nice place to hang out at and have a great meal! Clean and inviting. Must visit.
-
Omg I miss working in Waltham because every Friday we would order from here. I always got the tuna club. I love their tuna and pickles but my favorite thing that comes with it is the coleslaw! I never really cared for coleslaw until I tried theirs and I’ve yet to find anything like it here in RI. One day I’ll have to take a ride up there again just to get lunch here
-
Awesome food. Great atmosphere. Nice place to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner.
-
Very nice place and the food is delicious.
-
Great breakfast, lunch and dinner. No wait service but great service, prices and food. Huge menu and everything I've tried exceeds expectations for a deli./cafe. I would call it the way a standard sub shop should be with breakfast. They have delivery and own a yogurt shop next door if your in the mood. Plenty of parking and clean bathrooms.
-
There are things i love about this place and things not so much. I think Chef Ramsay would have a field day with this place. The menu is enormous, which is not necessarily a good thing when you think of how much food is potentially bought, stored, used (frozen?/goes bad?/gets converted) or thrown out to support the one order of X that may be ordered. So when it comes to ordering, stick to the mainstream deli items and you'll be delighted, eg grilled ruben, pastrami, chicken fingers salads and pizza all good. Also portions are decent sized so u might get away with a split on some items to keep costs down as its not cheap.
-
A go to place for fine pizza and great cheesesteak. Very friendly service too.
-
Good food nice friendly staff just pricey!
-
Love this place - one of my most favorite places as of yet - the pickles are my favorite and the people who work there are amazing :) - my husband loves the corn beef and I love the pickles - did I say I love the pickles
-
Huge variety in the menu. Owners are so nice. They know me by name and always ask how and my girls are doing. If someone messes up my order they bring it right back or give me an extra for my next order.
-
All u who gave prime delli 1 star ur a sloppy fat fuck by far the best food in area all those 1 star bitches prob trying to get free food keep up the amazing delicious food
-
My favorite place to order from, always have what I'm in the mood for and haven't been disappointed!
-
I ordered a Roast Beef Ravish. They made my sandwich in about two minutes, and it was very tasty. The meat and the bread seemed very fresh.
-
Good food, nice employees, wish they were open on Sunday.
-
Charlie here i used to work for these guys man i still have so much love for this place took a drive from Worcester to Waltham with my kids they loved it i will be back now that I’m back living in Massachusetts so great to see old friends and the shop is amazing food ??
-
It's not air conditioned very well in the summer, which makes this multi-grill/fryer grease joint positively suffocating. But the food is relatively inexpensive and homey. If you go there more than three times, they'll remember you forever. That's nice isn't it? Except they'll sometimes remember your ex, and ask about him in front of your new guy, and then your business is out in the open... but I digress.
-
oh man this place is good. They have awesome deli sandwiches, middle eastern food and breakfast staples. Try the reuben especially. Big shout out to the staff for remember the favorites.
-
Totally the best place to get a sandwich in Waltham. Plus, they deliver. Downside: closed Sundays. But regardless, they have about a million different sandwiches and wraps. My personal favorite is a roast beef, onions and horseradish wrap (anyone wanna make out?). They make your food quick and it's always fresh, and the delivery is actually on time, which is more than can be said of most places in Waltham!
-
More expensive then Cappy's but more options. They have a vast assortment of cold and hot subs and sandwiches as well as the usual sides (onion rings, fries etc.)They also have cute names for the sandwiches too ( like the "South Street") which I found amusing. They also carry a line of breakfast food which can be good if you are craving pancakes at noon instead of a turkey club. You are free to mix and match as well (my boyfriend likes the combination of a sandwich with homefries). It can get pricey though so watch out. They also claim to have free WiFi though I've never brought my laptop to try it out. A good sandwich pick for Waltham if you want a lot of variety.
-
Standard sandwich shop with a very friendly staff behind the counter and ample seating. Fair prices and really good food make it both a Brandeis and local Walthamite favorite spot to chow down. They even take Who Cash. Added bonus: Delivery! Hoo-ahh, everyone's a winner.
-
I've never been to The Prime Deli, but I get delivery from them sometimes. And I love love love their chicken cutlet sandwich with a side of their yummy pasta salad. The delivery folks are nice and I think they are amused that I always order the chicken cutlet sandwich and pasta salad. Oh, but for the love of GOD and all that is holy, AVOID THE KNISH!!!! It's overly greasy and chewy and g-r-o-s-s!!!
-
It was a hard day and I had a craving for chicken liver pate. Yes. Pate. Well, actually it was foie gras but seriously, who can afford it in this economic climate...or ever, I digress. Anyhow, like I said, the day blew and as it went on, it began to blow harder, enter my friend Eli who suggested that a chopped liver sandwich from Prime Deli would satisfy my organ meat craving and send the day on an upswing.
The place was packed but my order was taken immediately. A bit of shuffling behind the counter, and I was sent off with my organ meat sandwich and a complimentary half sour pickle spear to boot. A jaunt next door to the convenience store for a four pack of Kendall Jackson baby chardonnays and I was off to the closest picnic table. The sandwich was quite good but not exceptional and of course, it was no foie gras, but it hit the spot and not my wallet.

The Scharff Attack is by far the best sandwich in New England. It's tender juiciness makes studying for finals rather enjoyable. It's also a perfect treat for those cold days when you just don't want to get out of bed (they deliver). And, for those of you who keep a "Southern Kosher", try it without cheese, the russian dressing more than makes up for the deficit.
Reed Scharff (Attack)

No it's not a gourmet sandwich shop, but I like the Prime. I don't know how they keep track of the huge number of sandwiches, wraps, calzones, etc. Calzones are better than Cappy's. They have egg salad! Sandwiches are pretty good.
+1 for such names as "Ding-Mawi", "Hot Frah", and "Wi-Fi Chicken Grill From the Hot Spot".
Definitely call ahead and get takeout, there's not much in the way of atmosphere and they're not the quickest place. But the food is solid and you can find something for everyone here.

Having to live in a hotel for a few weeks while apartment hunting means having to hunt for food come dinner time. By the end of the day, all we wanted to do is take off our shoes and relax in the room with a decent meal. Thankfully, Prime Deli has free, friendly and quick delivery.
Their menu is packed full of items to satisfy most cravings from wraps to burgers. Drink choices are plentiful, as are sides and salad options. We were impressed enough to order from them twice during our 2 week stay in Newton. We had the same delivery guy both times and he was extremely polite, gave us a nice hello and thanked us for ordering from them again. Huge kudos for polite delivery people. That is MAJOR in my book.
Having only "lived" in the area for 2 weeks, I don't have much to compare Prime Deli to locally. I'm basing this on my experience with other delis in other cities/states.
Here is the break down:
Food ordered: 1/2 pound cheese burger, steak bomb sandwich, roast beef ravish sandwich, coaster roll-up (on syrian pita bread), spicy curly fries, frapp, cole slaw, and jalapeno poppers. The pros:
-The ability to order online and then track your order.
-Additions and special requests are honored without issue
-Quick delivery, and food is wrapped and labeled well (no leaking or smashed items)
-Food is good. This is not extraordinary, cartwheel worthy food. It's very good, basic and flavorful food
-Excellent value. Two people were well fed and satisfied for about $13/person both times. A wrap or a burger is about $7.50 @ the time of this review. You might be able to find food that is lower priced with similar quality (but I'm willing to pay a little extra for them to bring me yummy food)
-Able to order online and pay via credit card (and place the tip on the card as well so you just have to sign for it). At the time of this review, when you sign up to order online for the first time, we received a 25% discount. The cons:
-The online ordering is a bit awkward and not as quick as some sites I've used, but it's not horrendous..just mediocre
- Lack of desserts. They have frozen yogurt, but a slice of cheesecake would kinda rockOverall, a good value, great service, and a nice go-to dinner when I'm too tired to go out and find dinner on my own.
-
I love this restaurant. They have huge portions, fresh ingredients and a friendly staff! I order from here every time i stay in Waltham,
they offer a huge variety of frozen yogurt and they deliver for free!
thanks guys! -
They have, like, everything. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, lox, pasta, burgers, subs, wraps, salads, whatever. The food's good and they deliver on time. The delivery's a bit expensive when compared with other options, but I keep ordering from them anyhow.
-
Love this place. Discovered it recently, and it's become one of my go-to spots. Order online, breakfast all day, and I have yet to get anything I didn't like. Food has always arrived exactly as I ordered, drivers are super friendly and very quick (I've had a couple arrive under 20 minutes after I submitted them). This is my ideal place in the area for the type of food they deliver.
-
I order from this place quite a bit, my office is right down the street. Good food to order from, the sandwiches (I just finished the Tom Brady wrap) was great. The sammies and wraps are always great.
The fries that it comes with, on the other hand, pretty much suck. They are usually luke warm by the time I get them and they don't have any seasoning. Like fries out of the frozen section at a grocery store.
other than that though, love the place.

I have lived in Waltham for just about four years, live on South St and had never been here. A friend recommended Prime to me and last Saturday I decided to go for lunch. Their menu is huge, but, I went with a basic pastrami with Swiss on a bulkie along with their potato salad (it was recommended I try). I have to admit, it was a great pastrami sandwich and the potato salad was fresh and delicious. The gentleman and lady at the counter were pleasant and helpful.
Today, after raving about my meal, my coworkers and I decided to order from Prime. Now, I don't recall if Prime uses Beyond Menu as their online ordering system or if was suggested (I can't remember) but, it was super easy to use. Having never used the online ordering system, I called immediately after I placed my order to ensure they received it, and they did. I placed my order at 11:10 and was told it would be 50 minutes (my work is 2.6 miles from Prime). At 12:20 I checked my online status, it said my order was placed at 11:40 when the receipt emailed to me said 11:10, I called to see where the delivery was and the woman said it would be there shortly. The order arrived at 12:35. Now, it was a $97 order, I would have expected the delivery would have been more timely (the driver still got a 20% tip, after all, we are professionals).
Aside from the delivery fiasco, the food was delicious, except, my coworker said the fries were soggy. Could have been the time they sat in the car? I don't know.
I would recommend Prime, they have good food. I see a lot of bad reviews about the pizza and breakfast, but, it's a deli, you go for the sandwiches. The fries however, could be better. Also, if I were to ever order online again it would be at 9:30 when they open for an 11:30 delivery, perhaps that would give enough time to arrive for 12? This is also the reason for 4 out of 5 stars.
-
I've ordered from here multiple times - first being getting a steak and cheese with mushroom sub. Very big in portions. Also had breakfast sandwiches here too - your typical Dunkin Donut's breakfast sandwich but with a real egg. Don't get me wrong - it's great. And I love how early it opens so I can get my hangry away when I'm at work.

We recently stopped in The Prime Deli after passing by it's location on South Street countless times. At first we were amazed at the shear number of sandwiches (hot and cold), wraps, salads, subs, pizzas and breakfast offerings. I also thought that it was probably just another sandwich shop near a college campus.
Boy were we pleasantly surprised! We ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken and a Greek salad with chicken. Both were made to order and even delivered to our table (maybe because it was a slower Tuesday night?). The chicken was nicely marinated, tasty, and right off the grill hot. The salads at establishments like this are often filled with giant white sections of iceberg lettuce, one third of a tomato and a few croutons. Well, Prime Deli prepared their salad with a fine mixture of greens and the Caesar was made with Romaine. There were plentiful amounts of cheese and croutons that were not just stale, leftover bread. The Greek salad as equally prepared well with plenty of feta.
Maybe our expectations were just set too low, but I like to think of it as Prime Deli delivered a great experience and we will both be back to try out the rest of that huge menu!
-
The absolute best food in town, the service is fast and Yianni and his team are the best, great group of guys. I usually come here after school and this is my go to place for a Prime Sandwich! Thanks a lot guys and referring anyone here who appreciates good eats!
-
Nice restaurant near Brandeis University. Ate here on a Sunday and I was very pleased with the selection (overwhelmingly large menu!), service, portions and quality of the food. I found the prices to be a little high, but the food was delicious and the portions were huge. I had the veggie omelet, which came with home fries and toast, and I was FULL for the rest of the day and night! I work nearby so I plan to visit more often.
-
Fast friendly service. Foods good, portion size good, seems clean, nice menu. I don't go there anymore because I'm not working in that area anymore.
-
They have good food I have delivery but they forget things on order prices are a little high but need delivery it's good food
-
I have no complaints with Prime Deli. Everything we've tried has been fine from breakfast selections to the steak tip and rice dinner. And the Quesadilla is delicious with plenty of peppers, onion and chicken. They're very pleasant on the phone too.
-
I've lived in Waltham for just over a year now...Prime Deli is one of my go-to take out spots. Good pizza. Good breakfast. Pretty average delivery time. My only disappointing note is their french fries are super bland...at least provide some salt if you're not going to salt them yourself.
-
The prime is totally awesome.. I ordered the joe thorton that was the best sub i ever had that came with onion rings i could only eat half ..soooo good.
-
Good food thats reasonably priced, have tried a lot of their menu and haven't been unsatisfied yet with the food as well as customer service
-
Eating lunch here now. First time here. It is located up the street from where I work, so I figured I would try it for lunch. I got the Greek chicken salad. Good portion, made fresh and fairly quick for a busy lunch rush. The salad was pretty good. Everything was pretty fresh, my only complaint would be the chicken was a little bland.
-
wow. I work in the area and just saw this place yesterday. I got a sub and fries-- excellent. I ordered online and the pickup time was totally accurate. Food hot and fresh. Super friendly staff. I stopped over again this morning on my way to work for a breakfast sandwich and ice coffee-- phenomenal. Fresh ingredients. Really pleased with this place. I will be coming here a lot. Thank you! Also prices and portions are fantastic.
-
This place is legit. Food is reasonably priced and they always deliver on time with my correct order. The other day I even accidentally ordered take out instead of delivery - when I called to ask where it was, they sent a delivery person out right away with my order so that I could get it while it was still hot! I've tried pretty much their whole menu and have never been disappointed!
-
Very tasty breakfast. Lots of good sandwiches. Try Johnny's special if you like fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes.
-
Awesome food, and nice casual ambience!
-
Prime Deli
Prime Deli is a very inexpensive sandwich place that also offers, pizza, and really good frozen yogurt concoctions. They are priced reasonably but from my experience with Prime Deli, is sometimes your food takes longer than you'd expect. -
Great breakfast sandwiches
My favorite to get from here are their breakfast sandwiches. I usually choose to order online so it's ready for when I get there. I have heard that sometimes it does take a while when you go in and order right on the spot but I've never run into that problem so far. They are a great place to go to no matter what you're in the mood for. Sandwiches, pizza and even frozen yogurt! -
Friendly staff. The food is always good. Nice place to hang out.
-
I had an amazing cheese burger with mushrooms and a fried egg! It's such a cute little place!
-
Superb food fast delivery good prices.. I recommend the Joe Thornton with onion rings the best sub i ever had, and the onion rings were tasty too!!
-
Fantastic sandwiches, very nice service. I am a huge fan of the Chicken parm and Dream Cheese, but everything is good. Breakfasts are decent as well, but sandwiches are really where they shine.
